All, here's a link to the Sierra Club Wilderness committee's
newsletter - they were looking for some content, so I was able to
provide them with trip info about the upcoming Cook Springs Trip.
Also, Hannah has an article in there about Wild and Scenic Rivers - so
check it out!

The Aug 2007 issue of CA/NV wilderness committee's newsletter, Words of the
Wild (WOW) is now posted on the Sierra Club website.
Copies will go out in the mail to all who are on our mailing list tomorrow.

And there's a link to it at the bottom of this page, and also a link to the
previous issue.

Featured in this issue:
Cool Habitats P. 1, 2
Surprise Canyon victory p. 2
Nevada Wild lands Update p. 3
CA Wilderness & Rivers p. 4-5, 7
Outings p. 6, 7
Next meetingnotice p. 7
Recreation Fee updates p. 7
Wilderness Warrior P. 8
The "Cool Habitats" feature story about the Sierra Club's new Resilient
Habitats (Cool Habitats) initiative points out that Climate change (or
global warming) gives us new reasons to protect wild places, and shows how
public lands advocates can incorporate global warming concerns into their
preservation campaigns.
The WOW also announces our committee's next meeting, to take place in
Idyllwild, Riverside County Oct. 13 and 14, with a special focus on new
wilderness legislation for Riverside County. Everyone is invited. More
details on this later.
