[trailcrew] REI Employee Contact Needed for Trail Grant

Under the able leadership of Mike Heard and David Knapp, the VWA is now
launching the Cone Peak Trail Network Project to restore the trails that
surround Cone Peak.  Trails included are the Vicente Flat, Stone Ridge,
Gamboa, Cone Peak and portions of the North Coast Ridge Trail.  While most
of the work will be performed by VWA Trail Crew volunteers, we need to raise
some money for the work volunteers can't do, like blasting the deadfalls
that are too dangerous to saw.  So we are looking ahead for grant sources to
help fund the project.  REI has a grants program for outdoor recreation
projects and they fund trail projects.  For the VWA to submit a trail grant
proposal to REI for the Cone Peak Trail Network Project the project must
first be nominated by an REI employee.  If any of you either work for REI
and would consider nominating this project or if you know someone who works
for REI who might be willing to nominate the project, please contact me
